Valentines Day

Yesterday was a fun day. We painted our finger nails pink colors for the Holiday, (My little girl did not want to wash her hands because she thought the pretty polish would wash off. After a lot of convincing and a very good hand washing on my part she finally washed her hands)We made Valentines for some close friends,(The children had lots of fun gluing and decorating the Valentines)We also made a double batch of oatmeal chocolate chip cookies to deliver to our friends. We even made a Valentine for Eric and saved him some cookies. Which of course he enjoyed!!!!!!

While making Valentines with the children I started talking to my little girl about her Primary Lesson which is the "Holy Ghost Helps Me be Good" She shared with me a special moment that she had a few weeks ago. We had just bought the children some new games and they came up missing we searched for weeks and could not find the games. At one point when Catherine was all alone she prayed to Jesus, She asked him to help her find the missing games and Jesus did help her find the lost games. (She told me it was Jesus that helped her find the games.) I am so touched by her little growing testimony and the faith that she already has in Jesus. I am so grateful to know that she knows that she can pray to him on her own without our help.

Most of the time when I am trying to teach my little girl things I just do not feel she understands the importance of whatever I am trying to teach her. Sometimes it feels like she lives in a completely different world. But I am coming to understand that just because she does not respond to me in the way I would like she is still learning. I think she knows a lot more than she wants me to know:)
