Decision Time

A glimpse at one of my challenges at this time.
Well it seems as if I am back to another cross roads in my life. I have a huge choice to make between two very good things. Public School or Home School. My heart is torn between both. (I always want to make the very best choice.) There are a lot of pros and cons to both choices. I want to make the choice that I feel is the very best for Catherine, after all it is her education and happiness that is on the line. I think that is why I am struggling so much, it is not about me it is all about Catherine and making sure that all of her educational needs are met. I fear that someday she may tell us we made the wrong choice. It is hard to make big decisions for someone else.
At this moment I believe Catherine will be going to school on Wednesday.
Catherine is so excited to go to school, so much so that she was totally excited to get her vaccinations!! She has been asking me about school piratically everyday since May. I am excited for her I know that she will be a joy to all those that she meets.
I feel that after venting I must confess that I am grateful that my challenge is so very small compared to most of the challenges that layout there.

Catherine really wants to go to public school, so much so that she was totally excited to get her vaccinations.

  1. Hi Nancie!

I was so impressed with the Kindergarten program tonight. That is a teacher who knows her stuff. I think it is going to be a wonderful year. I feel so incredibly peaceful about it. There seem to be several really nice children in the class as well.

Most moms have a hard, hard time letting their first go to school. I have a feeling that you will feel a lot more comfortable once school gets going and you guys fall into your new routine.

But whatever you do, I sure am glad to be your friend. Hang in there!

  2. I have had the same thoughts. I never really thought there was much of a decision to be made until I had kids! I always just figured I'd send my kids to public school like I did! We decided to delay vaccinations, so our kids haven't had a single vaccination, and that is what started the thinking about home school.
At any rate, you can always start home schooling later on if your kids prefer! I'm sure she'll do great either way!

  3. Good for you for supporting her choice -- even at such a young age. I remember how much happier you were when you found a school that was a good fit for you. Remember, if it helps, that this decision doesn't have to be a 12-year commitment. If the time comes that public school is not the right choice, you can change. Best Wishes for a great upcoming school year!!
