Today the children and I was blessed with a sweet TENDER MERCY of the Lord:
Today is Memorial Day, the day we remember those Loved ones that have served our Country and also all of those that have passed away. I wanted to teach my children about remembering loved ones that have gone on, so I thought it would be a good idea to visit a grave of someone that we all knew in our community that has passed on to the other side. Eric and I over the last couple of days talked about remembering those that have served and also those that have gone on. So today the children and I visited a local store and purchased a flower to take to the local cemetery. As I was driving toward the cemetery I said a quiet prayer asking for guidance that I might find the grave that we intended on visiting. I felt so calm and assured that we would find the place.
As I approached the gates to the cometary I came to a fork in the road I felt prompted to take the lower road. While driving we passed a few graves and after driving a little father I noticed some graves that made me think I might be close to were I was wanting to go. A few feet later I decided to stop the car and get out and try to find the grave. I just happened to look to my right and right there just across the road from my car, was the grave I was planning on visiting and teaching my children about remembering. The weather was very damp and the rain was poring down so I only let Catherine and Trevor accompany me to the site. Once at the site I explained to them about the head stone and asked the children were her spirit was and they said, "With Jesus" , I then asked them were her body was and they pointed to the ground. (they understood more than I thought. ) I then had Catherine place the flower next to the stone, we took a moment of silence and then went on our way.
I am very grateful for the answer to my prayer today. Once again my Faith in Jesus Christ has been straighthend. I am not exactly sure why it mattered so much to the Lord that we remembered a sweet baby that has passed on today. I have been pondering all day why he answered my prayer and the scripture in Malachi that talks about turning the hearts of the children to their fathers and the hearts of the fathers to the children has been on my mind. Malachi 4:6 I am amazed how much he cares for his little ones both living on the earth and with him.
Oh, I hope it was Rissa's grave. We were out of town and unable to go visit her that day, and it would warm my heart to know that someone loved her enough to do that.
